FACULTY OF MEDICINE AND SURGERY
The greatest obstacle to effective and comprehensive health care in the developing countries is the inability to provide sufficient numbers of physicians to care for public health needs.
Quantity of physicians is not the only problem faced by developing countries but also the quality of each physician. Inadequate health care professionals in the region are challenged by understaffing, lack f proper medical equipment, and most of all proper training and experience to tackle the health needs of a mostly poor and uneducated public.
Banadir University cannot address all of the medical health problems of Somalia but it can provide the community and the nation physicians that are both competent and skilled. By educating and training future health care professionals, Banadir University can effectively increase the quanity of healthcare professionals in the community and the nation as well as drastically increasing the quality of healthcare provided.
